Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a big part of history. His I have a dream speech changed the world forever.
When Martin was little he used to love playing with his white friend. But one day his white friend invited Martin to his house but when they got there his mom said, “No...you can’t bring that black boy into our house!” “The family was quickly schooled on the harsh reality of the racial segregation of the south.” said an article from drmartinlutherking.net
Martin really wanted to make people aware of what was happening to black people, and to end racial discrimination, and segregation. “He promoted nonviolent tactics to achieve civil rights and led a number of peaceful protests, such as the famous March on Washington in 1963.” As the article, Martin Luther King Jr.’s achievements.
Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy has helped us in the present, to fight for equality, and abolish racism. “The time is always right to do what’s right.” “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Quotes from Martin Luther King Jr.
In my opinion, Martin Luther King Jr. should really be recognized more often...I know we have a holiday about him and all that, but we should really talk more about him, and learn what he did to end such a bad time in history.
